Wind’s Lullaby for Solo Piano is the earliest work on this recording. I had just turned 23 years old, and had been composing for only a short time when I wrote it. It is a simple, lyrical piece with an arpeggiated left-hand under a right-hand melody. My mother, Naomi, who was my first piano teacher, enjoyed this piece and played it often. I can think of no better way to end this, my first recording, than with a gentle lullaby in her memory.
